Cookies and what we store.

What this site stores today

No cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, and not for “essential” purposes either. You can confirm it in your browser's developer tools: the cookie jar for this domain is empty.

The one thing we may write is a single entry in your browser's local storage, called adm.consent.analytics, and only if we ever ask you about analytics and you answer. It records nothing but your answer. It is stored in local storage rather than a cookie on purpose: declining should not itself plant the thing you declined, and unlike a cookie it is never transmitted to us.

If we add analytics

We would like to know which pages are worth writing, so we may add privacy-respecting analytics later. If we do:

• Nothing loads until you have said yes. Consent is opt-in, and there is no pre-ticked box.
• Declining is one click, in the same place, and the same size as accepting.
• You can change your mind at any time from the link in the footer.
• This page will be updated in the same release, naming the provider and what it collects.

Third parties

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means your browser requests the font files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google receives your IP address as part of any such request. No cookie is set by this, but it is a transfer of data to a third party and we would rather it did not happen — self-hosting the fonts is on our list.

Apart from fonts, the site makes no third-party requests. No embedded video, no chat widget, no advertising pixels, no social buttons that phone home.

The application is a different thing

Signing in to the ADM application does set cookies, because a session cannot work without one. Those are strictly necessary for the service and are covered by the privacy notice rather than by this page, which is about the public website.

Asking us

If you want to know exactly what we hold, or want it deleted, write to us through the contact page. Under the GDPR you are entitled to an answer within a month, and you will get one sooner than that.
